UFO 34 List

Dear everyone,
Here's a list of all the UFO 34s that I know of and some that are conjectural. There is more information and links to owner's email at : http://www.ufonews.inglenook-winster.co.uk/UFO34_list.htm
Please add a comment to this post if you want to add anything or make corrections.
I would also like to record sail numbers and MMSI numbers if possible.

I moderate all comments before they appear on the blog. If you include your email address I will not publish it here, but will add it as a link to your boat's name on UFO List, with your permission.

Some details here of another UFO 34 to add to the list -
S/Y "HUSTLER" built 1977 - she has had that name since at least the early 1990's, when she was lying in Pwllheli. I bought her in Spring 2001, at that time she was in Southsea Marina. I sailed her round to the Med the same year and she has remained there ever since. I sail her for a few months every Summer, from her base in Halkoutsi, Greece.

For some time in the 1980's, I also owned the UFO 34 "FOREIGN EXCHANGE". I didn't like the name, so I renamed her "CUCKOO ROCK". I sold her at some time in the late 1980s

Spider is owned by Mick and Sandra Austin and is currently residing in the yard at our factory in Wollongong NSW Australia where she is having a serious refit. Could use some info on changing out the keel bolts and rudder bearing replacements my contact is mick@mammothice.com.au

Hi, I was rhe owner/skipper of Mahuri in the 1979 Fastnet . When I sold her in 1981 she went to Belfast lock. She is now listed in Coleraine. Is there any more info.

Hi Mahuri owner, Did you know about her sailing and doing very well in the 79 two handed Azores Race. We really creamed that one. Also the 79 fastnet capsize and survival to finish 3rd in Class 4. Youu have a well sailed and very successful cruiser. She lives deep in my heart and especially how she came through the 79 Fastnet. Cheers, Martin Lowson. mhlowson@onthenet.com.au.

Dear All

I'm now the 3rd owner (as of May 2022) of "Salamander of Kip" (registered in Glasgow) but bought in Grimsby and now berthed in Portishead (along with "Calcaria" another UFO 34). I've found a Times newspaper article dated 12 July 1977 that describes her win in the 3/4 Ton Cup race in west Scotland where she and her skipper beat off the contenders from Yorkshire (my home county) and I have a full set of original 1976 sails stamped with "1976 3/4 Ton Cup". She is still very much minimally laid out and in her race configuration, but I may have to slightly modernise her to make her the fast cruiser she can be. I'm amazed at her speed on all points of wind.
