Too sunny in Madeira

Filipe Assunção, skipper of Jackpot, has written from Madeira. He wants to know whether anyone has a design for a bimini, or has fitted one. In these northern latitudes any exposure to the sun is seen as a bonus, but perhaps biminis are more common in Australia, so please add a comment,or contact Filipe directly if you have bimini experience.
He also wants to fit a spray hood. Renegade's spray hood is narrower than some I have seen and we usually take it down when sailing, because it completely blocks the helmsman's view forward. Does anyone out there have a spray hood which they are happy with?

New owner and home port for Tai-pan

I want to inform you that the Tai-Pan, which is listed in your Ufo 34 Owners list, has changed owner. Since May this year I'm the new owner of this vessel. The vessel will keep the same name but the port of registry has changed from Lelystad to Hasselt. I want to kindly ask you to update this information if possible. Thanks in advance,

Bjorn Stoel

UFO gossip

Hi Renegaders,

UFO 34 is currently at the top of my shortlist for my next boat - for some irish sea / scottish cruising and occasional racing

Donufo is currently for sale not far from you, but it’s a 5 or 6 hour drive for me and I wondered if you might know anything about this boat and/or its history?

many thanks in advance for any help you can offer

Thema

Hello adrian ,

My name is Theo Hunink and I'm sailing on the "Thema" formaly "Rose" an Ufo 34 from Holman&Pye and build by Colvic.
First my compliments of the "renegade site" and the "Ufo News", wich I 'found on the internet.
My English is not so well, so sorry for faillures that I make, but I'm trying .

The "Thema ist the boat is of very close frend of mine, and we are sailing it thogether. He bought the boat in 2006 and we saild the boat for two months
then we stripped the hull and coated it with epoxy. The deck was stripped and repaird and we build an steeringwheel on it.
After five months we could sail again and renamed it to "Thema".
Our Port of registry is in Urk (The Netherlands) at the IJselmeer, an very nice place to sail and one hour driving from our home.
This winter we are working at the inside of the boat, new seeling, heater and navigation instruments to make everything so confeniant as possible.

The reason why I 'm writing is I want to know more about the Ufo 34, do you have any documentation of the builder or specifications of performance?
You can also put us at the owners list
Name ship Thema
Owner Matty van der Linde
country The Netherlands
port of registry Urk

Tony wants a UFO

Hi, I'm looking for a UFO 34 to buy. Anyone know of one? If so please call Tony on 07961 880 520.

Yes Tony. Jackpot is for sale, but she's in Madeira. Still it would be an interesting trip back home. You can get her owner Filipe's email address from UFO List at www.renegaders.co.uk
